Anatomical maquette
/Material: Chavant medium clay/
This anatomical maquette is my first ever attempt in clay sculpting. Made under the guidance of former Robot Chicken sculpture Lesley Padien (lesleypadien.blogspot.com) in a sculpture for animation course, giving me the means of producing a studio quality maquettes.
This project helped me develop a thorough understanding of scale, proportion and 3D space not only through sculpting but also through armature building, relating their importance of anatomy and physiology to sculpting the character.

This particular character was chosen not only as a project familiarize myself with charecter anatomy and skelletal structure, but also as a homage to iconic stop motion legend Ray Harryhausen's work on Jason and the Argonots, as well as my time as a four year varsity fencer in high school.
