Mjölnir

/Material: Welded Steel

Made in my Introduction to metalworking course, I took on this piece to learn more about how to work with metal and familiarize myself with a metal shop. I learned MIG and TIG welding, as well as plasma cutting to create this particular piece. The head of the hammer is made from ten pieces of plasma cut steel welded together to form a hollow box, the handle is made from scrap steel pipes welded on top of one another that run through the body of the hammer. The cavity of the hammer is completely filled with sand for added weight. It weighs approximately 35 pounds,.
